The aim of this work is to compare the concentration of chemical compounds found in the exhaust gases of cars supplied with different fuels, depending on the engine speed and vehicle mileage. Testing the exhaust gas composition of low and high mileage cars showed significant differences in emissions. High mileage cars demonstrate higher emissions of toxic exhaust gas components. However, those emissions do not exceed permissible standards and the vehicles may still be operated. A comparison of exhaust emissions from vehicles fueled with LPG and unleaded petrol confirmed the advantage of the gaseous fuel in terms of the emission of toxic components into the surroundings. Tests performed on cars with compression-ignition engines showed a negligible difference in the emission of particulates into the surroundings, despite the differences in exhaust gas treatment systems and the vehicle mileage.
Porównanie emisji spalin z pojazdów zasilanych LPG i benzyną bezołowiową potwierdziło przewagę paliwa gazowego pod względem emisji toksycznych składników do otoczenia. Badania przeprowadzone na samochodach z silnikami wysokoprężnymi wykazały nieistotną różnicę w emisji cząstek stałych do otoczenia, mimo różnic w układach oczyszczania spalin i przebiegu pojazdów.
